JKIE has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and has affiliation with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai with the help of well qualified experienced faculties, modern amenities, rich library, well equipped laboratories, workshop, computer facilities and other necessary infrastructure, the institute is intended to produce career – ready graduates who are immediately employable, self-reliant, self esteemed and ethical so as to maintain the sanctity of life. J.K. Institute of Engineering was established under a board policy frame work of providing new technology required for the industrial growth of the country in general and more particularly for the State of Chhattisgarh.
JKIE is located near Gatora Railway Station and 6 K.M. from Bilaspur Railway Station. Bus transport facilities prevail continuously. The campus is spread over 20 acres of Greenland procedure keeping in mind that it is well away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the same time easily approachable. It provides a unique environment for studies with natures greenery around and a very well maintained garden, lawns and seasonal flowers decorating the college building.

Admission Procedure

Admission to B.E. First year is conducted through Central Online Counseling administered by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Chhattisgarh. The dates and other details of such counseling are displayed through advertisement in local newspapers as well as their official website.

Eligibility

10+2 (PCM) with minimum 45%(Unreserved) and 40%(ST,SC & OBC) from recognized Board, along with valid score in CG-PET or JEE

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering, the broadest of all Engineering disciplines. Mechanical engineers are involved with every aspect of energy generation, transmission, and usage. This would imply that they are involved in almost every aspect of our daily lives, and that would be correct! Mechanical engineers design, build and test a wide variety of products and processes that range from your car and its engine, the refrigerator in your kitchen, the wind turbine that provides your house with electricity, to the space shuttle.
Because the industries in which mechanical engineers work are so varied, you can expect that your education and training to be a mechanical engineer to also be very broad. Besides a deep understanding of math and basic physics, mechanical engineers are taught specialized courses in mechanics, materials, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, manufacturing, and controls. Mechanical engineering is also becoming more and more intertwined with computer and electrical engineering as computer aided design and modeling becomes more prevalent and also in the areas of robotics and mechatronics.

The breadth of the field of mechanical engineering can be intimidating to some. Because mechanical engineering encompasses so much, it is often the case that as you reach the end of your time at university, you become more specialized in a certain area of mechanical engineering. There are three main different areas of emphasis in mechanical engineering. These main areas are loosely defined and can definitely overlap depending on where your career takes you, but they are a good starting place to think about how you want to focus your career.

Department of Civil Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering. The Department has grown tremendously over the years and is now recognized as one of the major engineering department in the country. The department has developed strong links with the building and construction industry and academic and research with in the country. Beside high quality teaching and instruction, the Department is actively involved in basic and applied research and consultancy and provides high quality technical and consultancy to various organisations. The Dept. has Civil Engineering Society that organizes expert lectures, group discussions, competitions, sports and other activities for the all-round development of the Civil Engineering students. The Department focuses on advance research and education in the board areas of Geotechnical, Structural, Transportation and Water Resources & Environmental Engineering. The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management.
The academic activities of the Department emphasizes deep understanding of fundamental principles, development of creative to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering, and the analytical ability to solve problems which are interdisciplinary in nature.
