Course

D.Pharmacy or D.Pharma is a diploma level course for aspirants who wish to study pharmacy and opt for a career option in medicine. It is a 2-year full-time diploma course designed to prepare candidates to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other pharmaceutical-related fields.

Admission Procedure

Admission to D. Pharmacy First year of the two years degree course is conducted through Central Online Counseling administered by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Chhattisgarh. The dates and other details of such counseling are displayed through advertisement in local newspapers as well as their official website.

Eligibility

For admission in two year diploma pharmacy course, Students should pass 12th with essential subject as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology from (10+2) education system of Board of secondary education, Chhattisgarh or equivalent exam from any recognized board with minimum 45% marks for UR category and with a minimum of 40% marks for SC, ST, OBC category and PWD candidate of Chhattisgarh.

Pharmaceutics is one of the disciplines in the pharmacy, which deals with formulation of a pure drug substance into dosage forms. Department of Pharmacognosy

The department of pharmacognosy of J.K.College of pharmacy comprises of natural drugs extraction and analysis equipment’s, the faculty are engaged in multi-disciplinary pharmaceutical research works such as screening of chemical constituents, analysis of herbal formulations and development of natural drugs in collaboration with departments of pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical biotechnology and pharmaceutics. The medicinal plant garden which is spacious having variety of medicinal plants is situated in the campus. Natural drugs of different categories are placed in the department and separately in herbal museum for the study and conduction of multi research activities by various members involved in it.

Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis

Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis is responsible for imparting knowledge in the field of modern instrumental techniques for B.Pharmacy. It involves basic research in identity, purity, content and stability of starting materials, excipients, active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms. The department involves in various research activities like method development of synthetic and natural drugs, stability studies, elucidation of newly synthesized drugs, Multi-component drug analysis, Bioanalytical studies, isolation and characterization of phytopharmaceuticals and validation of pharmaceutical dosage forms using chromatographic (HPLC) and Spectrophotometric (UV-Visible) methods. The department is well equipped with modern analytical instruments with good infrastructure facilities and carries activities as per good laboratory practices (GLP) and monitored as per ICH guidelines. The department is provided with eminent faculty having research experience and also qualified lab technician for the smooth conduction of research activities and lab experiments for UG students.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry constitutes a good center for academic excellence. The department hails its core strength from well qualified faculties, some of the brightest minds of the country and good laboratory facilities. Students are trained in all diverse fields of pharmaceutical chemistry orienting their applicability to industrial and research needs.
